This relates to the new Support Section but also to the tracker in general.

Currently, the tracker has a fixed width. If it were to be dynamically resized depending on the screen size then there could be lots more information displayed horizontally instead of vertically.

Soem elements have fixed width like the filter box on the right, others should be resized accordingly as well like each response.

also, on my system at least, many elements take a big amount of vertical space/padding… some of these elements include: the space above the Topic title, the space above “Your Response” in the comment system..the footer as well… its a line of “Powered by.. ” txt and a FAQ link.. but the shaded box at least 3-4 lines high

not nit-piking on purpose..just trying to help the process/change

Be careful what you wish for, though. If they're not implemented well, dynamic width layouts can lead to lines of text way longer than the recommended 60-80 characters, and they're a right pain to read.

Design is a tricky beast, and removing every bit of white space leads to a very busy website crammed full of information. Fine for veteran memebers of the community, but very intimidating for new users. I do agree that certain areas can be a bit tighter, but be careful, Sam. :)

  • agreed… it is a matter of balance… i was just trying to get the matter of vertical white space looked at simultaneous to any horizontal changes. – Mrwebsmith over 2 years ago
