Bug Slow loading of images that are used throughout the tracker

I’ve noticed that the last couple of weeks the pages on the tracker load kind of slowly. It takes about 2 seconds after all the text is loaded before the images are loaded. The page is frozen during that time.

This happens on all locations that I visit the site which have their own internet connections. It also happens on this tracker as well.

Entire thing loads at the same time for me, although I have noticed the load times increasing. Maybe the image thing is just a quirk of whichever browsers rendering engine.

What images are you talking about? The gravatars?

Many of the images on the tracker are hosted on external sites so I have no controls on how long they take to load.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I actually mean the images used by tracker itself like the logo and the indicator images for topic types and such.

I'm using your favorite browser IE8 :)

The Topics page is the one that seems to be the one with the largest delay.

  • IE8 eh, why would you do that to yourself :p – Shidojin over 2 years ago

This is really odd, it sounds like an issue with my ISP host talking to your site … what is the status of this now?

  • I'm still experiencing it, but now that I installed 7 RTM it is less frequent. In Chrome it almost never happens, but I use chrome only to confirm if anything is a site or browser bug. I will monitor and troubleshoot this on my end and report back later – birkoff about 2 years ago

Must have been something on my end. Haven’t had this issue since we moved and got a new internet connection.
