Community Tracker uses an automatic system to assign avatars, if you have not chosen one.
The avatar is generated uniquely based on your email address. Some times the automatic avatars are delightful, sometimes they are pretty bad.
If you are unhappy with the one automatically assigned to you, you can choose a new one by logging on to the gravatar website and uploading an image. Make sure you mark it PG, as community tracker requires PG images.
Further down the line there are plans to allow users to upload avatar images.
