It would be awesome to be able to filter the list of topics by status now that they are all listed together. I know that I can produce a list of all “resolved” topics from the dashboard, but I'd actually like to be able to go the other direction and do something like exclude resolved topics.

Maybe a set of checkboxes under the topic types on the right when you filter by an individual topic type (like feature request). Then you could check the statuses you want to appear in the list. To keep it clean, only the options for the currently filtered topic type appear (in tree-like fashion).

I started adding this, we now have a filter for completed, could you possibly give me a visual mock up on ways to improve this.

Are check boxes possible?

I don’t know how hard this would be to implement but this is what I have in mind. Under the currently selected topic type (All, Bugs, Feature, etc) would expand a set of check boxes which allow you to show only the selected statuses. And also turn the topic types into check boxes too so that I can see only Bugs and Feature Requests in one list.

Maybe to limit the confusion, this type of view could be available only to devs/admins…?

There should also be a “Knowledgebase” category in the blue box aswell. This will now allow for easy access to the number of views so we know what topics need more attention as they obviously are read alot.

Great idea, I was just complai…err discussing this with Birkoff :) But, as someone taking topics as a non-dev, I'd rather have the filter work the opposite of what ebr is asking for. I would like to see EVERYTHING by default and select the statuses I DON’T want to see. That way, I could filter out all the non-active topics, like stale, resolved, complete, etc and focus solely on what I would consider active topics. Not to muddy up the interface, but if you also provided a toggle at the top of the list that if checked would cause the check boxed topics below it to be INCLUDED and if the toggle was unchecked, the topic statuses selected would be EXCLUDED. (This probably doesn’t make much sense to anyone but me.) Anyway, this should all probably be listed under a separate section under filters called “Advanced filters” and I'd really like it to be persistent across all sorts as well as with return visits to the site.
