Another alternative to impersonation, would be to change how the “Accept Answer” link that is displayed on a response works. I think it would be much easier(and more intuitive) if when clicking “Accept Answer”, the user that posted the response was the user id used instead of the person clicking it when determining credit. This should also probably be applied to the Design, Workaround, and Steps to Reproduce tabs.
Edit: It just occurred to me that the Accept Link might already work in this way. Can someone clarify to me what exactly happens when an admin DOES NOT impersonate a user and clicks Accept on one of the user’s answer? Does the user get the rep/badge or the admin?
