Easier Knowledgebase URLs
The current permalink urls make it difficult to distinguish between knowledgebase articles and other topics.
It would be nice if Knowledgebase links looked nicer so they are easy to recognize by users. This encourages them to click on them.
Also it makes it easier to spot them.
I suggest something like this:
http://community.mediabrowser.tv/knowledgebase/963/where-do-i-put-the-cover-and-backdrop-images
instead of:
http://community.mediabrowser.tv/permalinks/963/where-do-i-put-the-cover-and-backdrop-images
a simple url rewrite should be able to do this.
Only knowledgebase items should have their own urls i think, but this might also be done for the other topics. would’t hurt i guess.
Also it might be better to not include the title of the permalink. What if the title changes? Titles are now automatically displayed on the tracker even if only http://community.mediabrowser.tv/permalinks/963 is the url. I'm not sure if previous titles are still valid permalinks.
Makes sense, keep in mind previous titles still work. the permalink is set once on creation. I like having the title cause its a bit more intention revealing.
In addition to the above it would be nice if there is URL rewriting so that http://meta.community-tracker.com/knowledgebase works instead of http://meta.community-tracker.com/topics?category_id=4&status=published
This allows for easy linking to the entire knowledgebase.
If you fix the above I think this additional thing is automatically fixed as well. just thought i'd mention it.
This URL rewriting could also apply to the blog section.
